She is survived by: her son Eugene Petersen (Nancy) of Clinton; her daughter-in-law Sandy Petersen of Derby, Kansas; her grandchildren, Jennifer, Tom, Martha and Robert; her great grandchildren, Gavin, Elvira, Blake, Canyon, Miriam and Henry; and her brother Harry Fuller (Kathy) of Arizona.

Memorials can be made to the family to be divided between Verna's favorite charities.
