He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer Claussen and Betty Claussen (Herrity); his wife Cindy Flack; his son Bil Hass; his brothers, Gary and Tom Claussen; his granddaughter Megan Howe; and his son-in-law Dave Van Horn, Sr..
He is survived by: his children, Peggy Van Horn of Miles, IA, Bob Hass (Michelle) of Oxford Junction, IA, Renee Streat of Clinton and Dawn Howe (Mark) of Maroa, IL; and his siblings, Leita Schultz of Clinton, Janet Johnson (Bruce) of Clinton and Barb Manikowski of Clinton. He is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren and recent great-great-granddaughter.
