He was predeceased by: his parents, Dr. Roy H. Mortimore and Susan Mortimore (Maxwell); his wife Jan; and his siblings, Winston, Phylis Lomax (Claud), Gwen Vega (Jay) and Elizabeth "Betty Jean" Downing (John).
He is survived by: his sister Ruth Peach; his children, Chris Mortimore, Karen Richardson (Ralph), Curtis Mortimore (Melanie) and Angela Parham (Rodney); his grandchildren, Amber Fickes (Devin), Troy Richardson, Maxwell Richardson and Clara Mortimore; and his great grandchild Emma Fickes. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Iowa Public Radio or the Karl Miles LeCompte Memorial Library in Corydon.
