In the vast expanse of eternity, Joan shall find rest, cradled in the arms of everlasting peace. And as we bid Joan farewell, her loved ones carry with them the precious gift of her memory, a beacon of hope guiding them through the shadows of sorrow towards the light of a new dawn.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Jack Mattis and Bessie Mattis (Hennies); her brothers, Jack Mattis of Rapid City, SD, Gary Mattis of Lee's Summit, MO and Gordon Mattis of Cheyenne, WY; and her nephews, Wayne Beaman of Independence, MO and Brian Mattis of Shawnee Mission, KS..
She is survived by: her children, Randall Underwood (Christie), Steven (Laura) of Ypsilanti, ND, Donna Van Asperen of Pahrump, NV and Twila Van Asperen (Jim) of Clive, IA; and her siblings, Elaine Beaman and Richard Buus. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren.
