He was predeceased by: his parents, Daisy Marie (Parris) and Evans Schmidt; his brother Mike Schmidt; and his father-in-law Bill Swanson. He is survived by: his wife Charlotte Schmidt of Clive, IA; his children, Cory Schmidt (Jessie) of Adel, IA, Miki Weber (Nate) of Waukee, IA and Jeremy Schmidt (Kristy) of Urbandale, IA; his grandchildren, Gwyneth Schmidt, Siena Schmidt, Garrett Weber, Lexi Weber and Caden Greening; his sister Linda Shimabukuro (Mori) of Dothan, AL; his mother-in-law Doreen Swanson of Ankeny, IA; and his siblings-in-law, Sandy Nelson (Pat Horan) of Ankeny, IA, Bev Atkins (Tom) of Johnston, IA and Joyce Schmidt of Omaha, NE. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
