He was predeceased by: his parents, Lars Hamre and Evelyn Hamre (Dokken). He is survived by: his wife Kathleen Johnson; his sons, Jeffrey (Carmella) and Michael; and his siblings, Ramona Halvorson (Larry) and Merlin.
The military honors will be held on Saturday, November 28th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Resthaven Cemetery (801 19th St, West Des Moines, IA 50265). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, November 28th 2026 from 12:30 PM to 3:00 PM at the Embassy Club West (520 Market St, West Des Moines, IA 50266).
