He is survived by: his wife Tammy Lyons of Clutier; his children, Kyle Herink (Shellina) of Clutier, Alex Herink (Kallie) of Cedar Rapids and Erin Johnson (Tim) of Bellevue; his grandchildren, Jalen, Jocelyn, James Herink, Josephine, Quinn, Kellen Herink, Tayla and Tova Johnson; his siblings, Craig Herink (Dale) of Louisville, KY, Kent Herink (Barb) of Des Moines, Cheryl Crelly (David Cobos) of Phoenix, AZ, Cindy Konrardy (Greg) of Shellknob, MO and Christine Mohrfeld (Kerry) of Ankeny; his siblings-in-law, Bob Holloman of Rye, NY, Elaine Herink of Johnston and Debbie Taylor (Greg) of Lee's Summit, MO; and his aunt Phyllis Magnussen of Traer. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 10th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the St. Paul Catholic Church (1102 Walnut St, Traer, IA 50675). A Mass was held on Friday, September 11th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
A memorial fund will be established.
