Sandy Springsteen Obituary

We are sad to announce that, on March 14, 2026, at the age of 74, Sandy Springsteen of Columbus Junction, Iowa passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert Eugene and Maurine "Peg" Lawson. She is survived by: her husband Chester Lee Springsteen; her children, Adam Truitt (Vicki Ellison) of Mount Vernon, Aaron Truitt (Hilarie) of Mount Vernon, Scott Springsteen (Robin) of Mediapolis, Dawn Shipman (David) of Oakville, Kim Kingston (Lee) of Mountain Home, AR, Diana Vanderkooi (Eric) of Piggott, AR and Lisa Springsteen (Nick Carlton) of Piggott, AR; her grandchildren, Alivia, Alaina Truitt, Kelsey Twinam, Hattie Garrison, Dalton Shipman, Kelsey Allbritton, Collin Kingston, Karlee Ryan, Zack Vanderkooi, Maddie Vanderkooi and Hayley Springsteen; her sister Sue Runnells (Jay) of Wapello; her niece Kristi Lawson (Paul Wagner) of Burlington; and her nephews, Fritz Runnells (Jennifer) of Wapello and Dan Runnells (Jamie) of Wapello. She is also survived by 10 great-grandchildren.

A memorial has been established for the American Cancer Society.
