Wanda June Canny Obituary
We bid farewell to Wanda June Canny of Columbus Junction, Iowa, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on December 5, 2025 at the age of 88. Wanda touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her parents, Dorsey Orvil and Erma Irene Casteel (Davis); her husband Andrew Jean Canny; her son-in-law Ron Shirell; and her siblings, Noval Casteel, Dorsey Orvil "Doc" Casteel and Betty Kunkle.
She is survived by: her children, Kayla Sue Shirell of Wetumka, Oklahoma, Christopher Jon Canny of Washington, Iowa, Curtis Sean Canny (Holly) of Columbus Junction, Iowa and Cory Shane Canny (Jessica) of Washington, Iowa; and her daughter-in-law Deana Canny of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She is also survived by 20 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 10th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home (116 E Main St, Washington, IA 52353). A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, December 11th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
Memorials have been established for The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.
