With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Dale Modlin of Conrad, Iowa, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on July 30, 2025 at the age of 96. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Obediah Modlin and Ingeborg Modlin (Rasmussen); his daughter Connie Myers; and his siblings, Ralph Modlin (Alice) and Frances Sievert (William).

He is survived by: his wife Helen Modlin of Conrad; his son Dennis Modlin (Barb) of Gladbrook; his grandchildren, Megan Johnson (Josh) of Muscatine and Matthew Modlin of Cedar Falls; and his great grandchildren, Ava, Isabella and Hanna Johnson. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, please direct memorial contributions to his family for future designation.

“I’m heart broken of the passing of Uncle Dale as he was the last surviving member of my dad’s family. My one story I love to share is: we were at Grampa and Grandma Modlin’s house in GC. I had a loose tooth. Uncle Dale tied a string to that tooth and the opposite end to the bathroom door handle. Not thinking of what was going to happen, the door slammed shut and that tooth hung on the string! I smile every time I think of that day! Rest in Peace! Love you! Karen”
