He was predeceased by: his parents, William Carson and Ethne Carson (Okell). He is survived by: his wife Marijke Elrod; his children, Leigh and Drew; his sister Kaylynn Mills (Dan); his nephew Nathan Mills (Rachel); and his nieces, Julie Morris (Jordan) of New Zealand, Emily Lange (Jono) of New Zealand and Laurie Mills of New Zealand.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Growing Hope Globally or the First Presbyterian Church, both of Conrad.
