She was predeceased by: her parents, Francis Reid Simms and Helen Mae Brumm Simms; her son Rick Sharp; her husband Jim; and her siblings, Leo and Joan Payne.
She is survived by: her children, Tom Sharp (Emily) of Bowling Green, KY, Gregg Sharp (Patti), Conrad and Sara Acker (Jan) of Scottsdale, AZ..
Memorials may be directed to those organizations or Oakview Nursing Home for activities and social services uses. Virginia chose to donate her body to Des Moines University Medical School and there will be an interment of ashes at a future date.
