He was predeceased by: his parents, Andrew Gaesser and Marie Gaesser (Bankford); and his brothers, David Gaesser and Larry Gaesser. He is survived by: his wife Elaine Gaesser (Meny) of Corning Iowa; his children, Jennifer Gaesser of Creston and Chris Gaesser (Shannon) of Lenox, Iowa; his siblings, Bob Gaesser (Ruth) of Dale, IN, Kathy Nolan (Mark) of Indianapolis, IN, Linda Droege (Gary) of Wadesville, IN and Mary Fischer (Dan) of Ferdinand; his sister-in-law Mona Gaesser of Gentryville, IN; and his aunt Betty Nord of Chandler, IN. He is also survived by eight nieces and nephews; twelve great nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 18th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the St. Patrick's Catholic Church (600 W Michigan St, Lenox, IA 50851). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, September 19th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the same location. A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, September 20th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the World Food Prize (100 Locust St, Des Moines, IA 50309).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed towards Juvenile Diabetes Research Fund OR The Ray Gaesser Scholarship Fund.
