She was predeceased by: her parents, Earl Syferd and Bertha Syferd (Liggett); her husband John Harry Rider; her in-laws, John Wilbur and Clara Evelyn Rider (Smith); her siblings, Scott Syferd (Millie), Drexal Syferd (Betty), Dona Whittlesey (Cecil) and Terry Syferd (Elayne); and her sister-in-law Janice Donaldson (Rider).
She is survived by: her children, Johnny Rider, Todd Rider (Dian) and Missy Lain (Gary); her grandchildren, Shawn Rider (Kalie), Ryan Rider (Michaela), Ashley Woods (Shay), Hannah Kelly (Tanner) and Dillon Lain (Dally); her great grandchildren, Aurora Rider, Kambrie Schoolcraft of Lainey Woods, T. J, Kelly, Hayes Kelly, Quinn Kelly, Haddie Lain and Drake Lain; and her sister Ellowein Gates. She is also survived by extended family members and friends.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 27th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Thomas Funeral Home-Corydon (303 E Jefferson St, Corydon, IA 50060). A funeral service will be held on Monday, September 28th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
