She was predeceased by: her parents, Curt Anderson and Frances Anderson (Waldron); her husband Ronald; her sister Anne Hein (Merald); and her parents-in-law, James and Cora Smith.
She is survived by: her sons, Doug Smith (Cindy) of Hiawatha and Steve Smith (Carrie) of Council Bluffs; her grandchildren, Mindy Johnson (Eric) of Lincoln, Neb., Nathan Smith of Council Bluffs, Jesse Smith (Ashley) of Council Bluffs, Stacia Petersen (Brady) of Bristol, Conn., Shawn Smith (Kayla) of Crookston, Minn and Katie Forney (Brad) of Cottage Grove; and her great grandchildren, Camryn, Gavin Johnson, Josie, Evie Smith, Nicole, Lucas Smith, Jensen, Curt Petersen, Noelle Smith, Hazel and Theodore Forney.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 26th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Hoy Kilnoski Funeral Home (1221 N 16th St, Council Bluffs, IA 51501). A memorial service will be held on Monday, October 26th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location.
Memorials are suggested to Angels Care Hospice or Disabled American Veterans.
