He was predeceased by: his parents, Martin Nelsen and Patricia Nelsen (Leddy); his son Todd Nelsen; his brother Mark Nelsen; and his parents-in-law, Dave and Ruth Slaughter.
He is survived by: his wife Lynn Nelsen; his daughters, Rebecca Borges (Jeremy Ostendorf) and Jennifer Brandt (Rod); his grandchildren, Brandi Bayne, Caleb Borges and Rylee Brandt; his great grandchildren, ShaeLynn, Karson, Emmett and Blake; and his sister Kay Mocha (Bob).
A memorial service was held on Thursday, May 22nd 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Hoy Kilnoski Funeral Home & Crematory (1221 N 16th St, Council Bluffs, IA 51501).
