He was predeceased by: his parents, Laurel D. Moore and Helen Mae Moore (Rockhold). He is survived by: his children, Douglas E. Moore (Kathy) of Council Bluffs, IA and Deanne R Reed (Marion) of Council Bluffs, IA; his grandchildren, Jaime Smith, Kelsey Moore, Shawn Moore, Blake Reed and Katherine Kates; his sister-in-law Nancy Swearingen; and his close friend Nancy Darrow.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 24th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at 16 Valley View Dr, Council Bluffs, IA 51503.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Brown County Historical Society, Hiawatha, KS.
