He was predeceased by: his parents, Frederick Lainson and Vernelle Lainson (Olsen). He is survived by: his wife Stephanie Gohlinghorst; his daughters, Jamie Lainson and Allyse Hotze; his grandchildren, Meika Daniels, Harrison and Corbin Hotze; and his siblings, Frederick (Trudy) and Suzanne Jensen (Carroll). He is also survived by several nephews and great nieces.

Memorials are suggested to Promise for Paws or Our Savior's Lutheran Church.
