We announce the death of Daniel Paul Abrams (Council Bluffs, Iowa), who passed away on September 13, 2026, at the age of 91. Daniel will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Daniel will be remembered for the impact he had on the lives of those around him. Friends, family, and colleagues will cherish their memories and the time shared. Those who knew Daniel will remember moments of kindness, warmth, and presence. Though words cannot fully capture his life, the legacy of connections and experiences remains. Daniel’s absence will be deeply felt by those who valued his companionship.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Gordon Abrams and Hildred Abrams (Smith); and his sisters, Donna Shoemaker and Joyce Patterson. He is survived by: his wife Claire Abrams of Council Bluffs; and his siblings, Gordon "Bud" Ellsworth Abrams of New Port Richey, Florida and Sharon Dodge of Phoenix, Arizona. He is also survived by many other relatives, friends.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, November 21st 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Chapters Living (3000 Risen Son Blvd, Council Bluffs, IA 51503).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Dan's memory to For God's Children International, PO Box 434, Council Bluffs, IA 51502, an organization providing hope, dignity, and love in Jesus' name for God's hurting kids; The Arc of Central Virginia, 1508 Bedford Avenue, Lynchburg, VA 24504, or a local chapter of The Arc; or to a charity of the donor's choice.
