The passing of Daniel J. McDermott (Council Bluffs, Iowa) leaves a void in the hearts of many, as we bid farewell to a loving soul who departed on September 17, 2025 at the age of 78. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald McDermott and Alma McDermott (Dahl); his in-laws, Clarence "Dutch" and Mary Ring; his brothers, Lyle, Jed and Jim McDermott; and his siblings-in-law, Pete Turner, Tim Ring, Chuck Minahan, Nick Ring, MaryAnn McDermott and Becky Ring.
He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Ann Ring; his children, Josh McDermott (Brenda), JoAnn Beckman (Jasen), Jessie Krebs (Dan), Jake McDermott (Sonia) and Jordan McDermott (Adam Banark); his grandchildren, Madison Hart (Mike), Kaelin McDermott (Luis), Gabe McDermott, Ryan Beckman, Connor Beckman, Annie Beckman, Aiden Krebs, Mary Krebs and Nate Krebs; his sisters, Pat Fischer (Dean) and Bonnie Turner; and his siblings-in-law, Callie Ring (Ben), Myrna McDermott, Sheila Minahan, Val Ring and Tom Ring. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation was held on Sunday, September 21st 2025 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the St. Patrick's Catholic Church - Neola (309 3rd St, Neola, IA 51559). A funeral service was held on Monday, September 22nd 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
