He is survived by: his wife Flora Gilbert; his children, Wilma Ziemies of Omaha, Nebraska and Steven Gilbert of Omaha, Nebraska; his granddaughters, Emily and Angel; his sisters, Jackie Graves (Bryan) of Omaha, Raylynn Nash of Bellevue, Rosie Coltrin (Charlie) of Omaha, Cindy Beadle of Council Bluffs and Michelle Case of Council Bluffs, Iowa; and his nephews, Steven, Dennis and Robert Rys. He is also survived by many nieces, cousins, other extended family members, and many, many friends.
