Frederick Schmidt Obituary

We are sad to announce that on September 5, 2025, at the age of 81, Frederick Schmidt (Council Bluffs, Iowa) passed away. He was predeceased by: his parents, Adolph Schmidt and Fern Schmidt (Rodenburg); his brother Dale Schmidt (Kenneth Henry Schmidt); and his son Dennis Jay Schmidt. He is survived by: his wife Barbara Schmidt; his sons, Freddie Schmidt (Ellen) and Kevin Dale Schmidt (Linda Wuestewald); his brother Gary Schmidt (Cherry); his grandchildren, Andrew Schmidt (Morgan), Zachary Schmidt (Taylor), Payton Schmidt and Paige Schmidt; and his great grandchildren, Blake, Benjamin, Logan and Charlie. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins; a host of other family and friends.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, September 9th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Hoy Kilnoski Funeral Home (1221 N 16th St, Council Bluffs, IA 51501). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 10th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. John's Lutheran Church (30907 Coldwater Ave, Honey Creek, IA 51542).
