It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Hayes (Council Bluffs, Iowa), who passed away on April 9, 2024, at the age of 72, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by : his parents, James Hayes and Charlotte Hayes (Beard); and his wife Kay Hayes. He is survived by : his sons, Christopher Hayes (Misty) and Jeremiah Hayes (Shannon); his sisters, Charlotte Study and Jeannie Thompson (Mike); his grandchildren, Kaylie Adrian (Jerry), Austin Hayes, Jordan Hayes, Maja Lyons-Calhoon (Zach Gardner) and Madison Lyons-Calhoon; and his great grandchildren, Myah, Dawson, Carson, Bennett, Kayson and Lennon. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, April 17th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Hoy Kilnoski Funeral Home (1221 N 16th St, Council Bluffs, IA 51501). A funeral service was held on Thursday, April 18th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the same location.
