Though Jason may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Jason touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In his absence, his spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
He is survived by: his wife Alison; his children, Brenna and Brady; his parents, Chuck Smith and Jonette Smith; and his siblings, Erin (Devin) and Andy (Jess). He is also survived by extended family, dear friends.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 1st 2025 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the St. Patrick's Catholic Church (4 Valley View Dr, Council Bluffs, IA 51503). A funeral Mass will be held on Monday, June 2nd 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Jason's memory to support Pottawattamie Conservation Foundation: Hitchcock Nature Center, reflecting his lifelong love of the outdoors and time spent in nature with his family.
