The memory of Larry Poffenbarger (Council Bluffs, Iowa), who passed away on July 17, 2025 at the age of 87, will forever remain in the hearts of those touched by this precious presence in their lives. He was predeceased by: his mother Bertha (Thacker); his brothers, William Poffenbarger and Richard Poffenbarger; his daughter-in-law Loretta Reed-Poffenbarger; his brother-in-law Mike Cowlham; and his nephew Bennie Plum.
He is survived by: his children, Tegwin (Jay Christians) and Jeffrey Poffenbarger; his granddaughters, Brandyn Breitkreutz (Will Fox), Jessica Neal (JR) and Ashlee Harm (Luke); his great grandchildren, Kloee of Charlee, JD, Christopher, Emily, Ren of Marnee, AJ and Braylon; his sisters, Ardith (Robert Caputo) and Bertie Cowlham; and his nieces, Tracy Plum and Teri Kirk (Kelly). He is also survived by nieces and nephews, and many special friends.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 22nd 2025 from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM at the Hoy Kilnoski Funeral Home (1221 N 16th St, Council Bluffs, IA 51501). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 23rd 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the same location. A masonic service will be held on Wednesday, July 23rd 2025 at 5:00 PM at the same location.
Memorials are suggested to Shriner's Transportation Fund.
