It is with sadness that the passing of Lyle Dales of Council Bluffs, Iowa is shared. Lyle, born on March 14, 1936 in Harlan, Iowa, passed away on September 25, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Logan Dales and Faye Dales (Copeland); his brothers, James "Jim" Dales and Charles "Chuck" Dales; his sisters-in-law, Dee (Lloyd Dales) and Betty; his daughter Teresa Mazak (Dales); his granddaughter Melissa Ludwig; Marguerite.
He is survived by: his great grandchild Atticus; his wife Tava Mayrene Dales (Catlett); his son David Dales; his son-in-law Mike Mazak; his grandchildren, April Hunn (Justin), Tava Mazak, Mason Dales, Jayce Dales and Tanner Dales; his great grandchildren, Naomi Ludwig and Audrey Tava Hunn; and his sister Susan Goslin (Mark).
A celebration of life was held on Thursday, October 1st 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Iles Grandview Park Chapel (3211 Hubbell Ave, Des Moines, IA 50317). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 at 10:30 AM at the Southwest Church of Christ (2600 S 124th St, Omaha, NE 68144).
Memorial contributions may be made to Grandview Church of Christ for the Children's Blanket Fund, which aids displaced children.
