He was predeceased by: his parents, Marion Abel and Barbara Abel (Stowell); and his wife Linda L. Abel. He is survived by: his children, Elizabeth Abel of Council Bluffs and Mark Abel of California; his grandchildren, Abigale, Haven, Oakley and Wyatt; and his siblings, Gordon Abel (Pat) of Council Bluffs, Dr. David Abel (Joan) of Eugene, Oregon, Merrily Heaps of Idaho and Anne Marie McDermott (Todd) of Walnut, Iowa. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
