It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Melvin Maritz of Council Bluffs, Iowa, born in Omaha, Nebraska, who passed away on February 21, 2024, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by : his parents, Betty Maritz and Leslie Maritz; his sisters, Sandy and Nancy; his daughter Julie; and his former life partners, Sunny and Ruth.

He is survived by : his wife Eileen; his siblings, Karen (Luke), Leslie (Margaret), Jim (Donna), Pamela, Darlene (Junior), Mike, Robin (Gary) and Scott; his children, Jay (Sue), Cindy (John) and Marcy (Dan); and his grandchildren, Brenda (David), Peggy (Gregg) and Michael (Kelly). He is also survived by 14 great grandchildren, 4 grandchildren; and hundreds of nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
