He was predeceased by: his parents, Phyllis Ann Higgins (Heitman) of Council Bluffs and Gail Edward Higgins of Council Bluffs. He is survived by: his wife Peggy Lee Higgins (Hircock); his children, Daniel Shawn Higgins, Heather Lynn Koss (Lance) and Amberly Mae Schechinger (Paul); his grandchildren, Meranda Jean Melin (Cass), Robert Lee Martinez and Shane Thomas Koss; and his great grandchildren, Rosalia Mae Melin, Eleuia Lee Melin, Isabella Ray Melin, Mariana Lynn Melin and Reynato Haart Melin.
