He was predeceased by: his parents, Leonard Hestness and Ruth P. Hestness (Olson); his wife V. Diane Saggs; and his siblings, Kay Pitt (Norm), Marlene Turk (Frank) and Robert.
He is survived by: his children, Susan Mullins (Scott) of Council Bluffs, David Hestness (Becky) of Council Bluffs and Deb Hestness (Jon White) of Council Bluffs; and his sister-in-law Connie Hestness of Des Moines, IA. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 24th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home & Crematory (545 Willow Ave, Council Bluffs, IA 51503). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 25th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Alzheimer's Association.
