The memory of Phyllis I. Root of Crescent, Iowa, who passed away on April 30, 2025 at the age of 89, will forever remain in the hearts of those touched by this precious presence in their lives. She was predeceased by: her parents, George Delanty and Geraldine Delanty (Ostdiek); her husband Bill Root; her son Robbie Root; her grandson Colton Benson; and her siblings, Patricia Schlautman, Jeanette Blair and Gary Delanty.
She is survived by: her children, Randy Croson (Nancy), Terrie Graves (John), Cheryl Schellin, Kim Zaloudek (Kerry), Kevin Root (Cynthia) and Russell Root; and her siblings, Donna Anderson, Kay Brownfield, Karen Allen (Frank Hickey), Connie Hook and Pam Cruz (Ralph). She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Monday, May 5th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home & Crematory (545 Willow Ave, Council Bluffs, IA 51503). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 6th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
The family will direct memorial contributions.
