It is with great sadness that we announce the death of David Alan Kappes (Cresco, Iowa), born in Decorah, Iowa, who passed away on October 28, 2022, at the age of 59, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by : his parents, Neil Kappes and Kathy Kappes (Clynch); and his siblings-in-law, Cletus, Lorraine Vokaty and Maureen Vokaty.
He is survived by : his wife Jillaine Vokaty of Schley; his daughter Jesse; his son-in-law Scott Njus; his grandson Chandler Njus of Fredericksburg, IA; his siblings, Gary Kappes (Kennie Waller) of Schley, IA, Karen Ptacek of New Hampton, IA and Robbie Kappes (Tammie) of Stewartville, MN; his siblings-in-law, Wayne Vokaty (Darla) of Cresco, IA and Ruby Vokaty of Center Point, IA; and his nieces and nephews, Reggie (Gen), Sam Reicks, Terry Reicks, Tyler Kappes (Kelsey), Daniel Kappes, Courtney (Jake), Horan, Darci Lenehan (Jamie), Dana Williams (Tom), Erica Gardner (Brandon), Kayla Beyer (Andy), Shania Kappes and Melanie Kappes (Angelica). He is also survived by nephews & nieces, great nephews & nieces as well as numerous uncles, aunts and cousins.
