He was predeceased by : his mother Helen Drtina (Nibaur); his wife Sonia Burgess; his father George J. Drtina; and his parents-in-law, John R. and Bernetta Burgess.
He is survived by : his children, Daniel Drtina (Karon Fromm) of Cresco and Robin Sobolik (Dave) of Cresco; his grandchildren, Alanda Meyer (Brandon) of Cresco, Brendan Drtina of Cresco, Ciara Keck (Tim) of Cedar Rapids, Brian Sobolik (Lyndsey) of Elma, Jayme Sobolik of Cedar Falls and Cody Sobolik of Cresco; his great grandchildren, Sam, Jameson Meyer, Henslie, Hadlee Sobolik and Arya Keck; his brother David Drtina (Patti) of Cresco; and his brother-in-law Don Burgess (Deb) of St. Charles.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made in Richard's memory to Notre Dame School, Cresco or Howard County Hospice.
