Raised; his wife Sheila; his children, Kyle Slifka (Stephannie), Shannon Slifka of Mason City, Iowa, Megan Michelsen (Kyle) of Altoona, Iowa and Brandon Slifka (Tori) of Urbandale, Iowa; his grandchildren, Weston Slifka, Brayden and Brylee Michelsen; his brothers, Scott Slifka (Annette), Sam Slifka (Sharon) of Murfreesboro, Tennessee and T. J. Slifka (Kris) of Lime Springs, Iowa; his siblings-in-law, Diane VanGrunsven (Dick), Denise Newton, Mary Pat Hestbeck (Ron), Maureen Winfrey (Dave), Don Newton, Steve Newton, Jerry Newton, Mike Newton and Patrick Newton; and his close friend Zoie. He is also survived by nieces and nephews; and great nieces and nephews.
