He was predeceased by: his parents, George Hiram Staats and Hazel "Juanita" Staats (Sterner); his wife Betty Jean (Sparks); his son George Howard Staats; his siblings, Bill Staats (Roberta) and Margaret Williams; his son-in-law Terry Tull; and his brothers-in-law, Jerry Smith and Jim Exley.
He is survived by: his children, Jeanne Barber (Paul) of Edgerton, Heidi Jo McDonald of Nashville, Tenn. and Fred Staats (Janell) of Creston; his grandchildren, Colette Staats (Gloria) of Kansas City, Caley Staats (Jaclyn) of Edgerton, Luria Staats (Michael Sullivan) of Colorado Springs, Daisy Staats of Creston, Grant Staats (Addy Flamming) of Shenandoah and Noah Runde of Nashville, Tenn.; his great grandchildren, Chloe, Jackson, Max, Marley and Charlotte; his siblings, Fred Staats (Alva) of Loveland, Colo., Doris Smith of Green Valley, Ariz, Linda Parise (Sam) of San Diego, Calif and Mary Exley-Anderson (Staats) of Trenton; and his brother-in-law Charles "Junior" Williams of Hamilton.
Memorials are to The Chicken Inn for its continued upkeep.
