He was predeceased by: his father John Ross Stephens; his wife Vickie Blazek; his nephew Beau Marley; and his parents-in-law, Clifford and Beth Blazek.

He is survived by: his mother Ruby Stephens (Crittenden) of Shannon City; his sons, Shamus Stephens (Jen) of Pleasantville, Shane Stephens of Creston and Shaun Stephens of Creston; his grandchildren, Colten Stephens (Hannah) of Maryville, Grace Stephens of Pleasantville and John Ross Stephens of Pleasantville; his siblings, Reggie Stephens of Creston, Kathie Bryant (Gene Dwyer) of New Orleans, Dixie Stephens (Kim Grytdahl) of Las Vegas, Shellie Billings (Steve) of Dallas Center and Julie DeYoung (Bob) of Baldwin City; and his siblings-in-law, Steven Blazek (Tammy) of Adel, Linda Marley (Steve) of Creston and Barb Murtha (Dave). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his name may be made to the family for Creston Wrestling Youth and Union County 4-H Youth.
