He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, James Robert Bruce and Delores Ethel Bruce (Reiss) of Grinnell; his former wife Sandra Jean Boer; his wife Sandy Bruce of Creston; his stepdaughter Kim Morgan of Creston; his siblings, Kirk Bruce (Jan) of Des Moines, James Bruce (Cristy) of Urbana and Mary Massman (Marty) of Grinnell; and his grandchildren, Alexandra Findlay (Andrew), Hope Morgan (Jon), Chance Morgan (Rachel) and Michael Morgan (Harlee).

In lieu of flowers, memorials are to the family.
