He was predeceased by: his mother Sharon Marie Quam (Johannes); and his parents-in-law, Carolyn Brown (Stewart) and Frank Stewart. He is survived by: his father Roger Leroy Quam (Sharon) of Creston; his wife Lisa Quam of Creston; his son Derek Quam (Elizabeth) of Boone; his grandchildren, Darian, Shaun, Nayeli, Jace and Ryla; his siblings, Lori Quam of Creston, Steve Quam of Creston and Rick Quam of Manning, S. C.; his nephew Blake Quam of Fontanelle; and his nieces, Kinleigh, Kaelynn and Kadee.

Memorials are to the First Christian Church in Creston or Creston High School tennis department.
