He was predeceased by: his parents, Alva Dewey and Gladys Lucinda Walter (Pond); his wife Beverly Corinne Penn; his son Stephen; his siblings, Mary Jo Rowe, Darlene Brees and Harold Walter; his siblings-in-law, Wilma Walter, Ralph Rowe and Dean Brees; and his cousin Junior Richie.
He is survived by: his sons, Randall Walter (Cathy) of Ames, David Walter (Janet) of Creston and Timothy Walter (Kenda) of Ozark, Missouri; and his sisters, Carolyn Dixon (Merlin) of Corning and Connie Helvie (Terry) of Corning.
