She was predeceased by: her parents, Lloyd Dell Shannon and Gladys Milree Shannon (Choate); her husband Edmund Thomas Smith; her daughter-in-law Kathy Smith; her siblings, Dortha Radke (Martin), Dan Shannon (Alice), Charles Shannon (Eva), Don Shannon (Donna) and Eileen Everling (Orlo); and her siblings-in-law, Gerald, Mike Smith (Pat) and Anna Ford (Carl).
She is survived by: her children, Kristine Clark (Raymond) of Creston, Theresa Snyder (Steve) of Winterset, William Smith of Afton and Gary Smith (Amanda Mountain) of Afton; her siblings, Dean Shannon (Carol) of Ojibwa, Wisc. and Mary Drury of Calif; and her grandchildren, Nancy Davis (Tyrone) of Creston, April Whetzell (Josh) of Creston, Shannon Doege (Jason) of Buffalo Center, Lindsey Millsap (Lance) of Mason City, Wade Snyder of Melrose, Jennifer Jackson (Andy) of Lorimor, Jessica Haight (Clinton) of Elston, Samantha Brown (Nick) of Osceola and Shelby Smith (D. J. Vermeer) of Boise, Idaho. She is also survived by 19 great-grandchildren; one step-great-grandchild; 5 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, October 10th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the Holy Spirit Catholic Church (107 W Howard St, Creston, IA 50801). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Friday, October 10th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
