He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Herbert Bakerink and Lucretia Agnes "Tete" Bakerink (Devereaux); his siblings, Judy and Jim Bakerink; his parents-in-law, Hank and Mary Schroeder; and his brother-in-law Norman Schroeder (Linda).
He is survived by: his wife Fran Bakerink of Creston; his children, Teresa L. Williamson (Donald) of Creston, John Randall "Randy" Bakerink (Lisa) of Springfield and Michelle R. "Shelli" Burger (Jeff) of Afton; his sister Janet Pettit (Lowell) of Creston; and his siblings-in-law, Cyndy Bakerink of Creston, Jan Custer of Indianola and Duane Schroeder (Dee) of Topeka, KS. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; and many other extended family.
Visitation was held on Monday, May 4th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:30 PM at the Powers Funeral Home (601 New York Ave, Creston, IA 50801). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Tuesday, May 5th 2026 at 10:30 AM at the Holy Spirit Catholic Church (107 W Howard St, Creston, IA 50801).
