She was predeceased by: her parents, Irvin Lauer and Winnie Lauer; her husband Richard Fils; and her siblings, Rollin Lauer, Homer Lauer and Phyllis Brown.
She is survived by: her children, Gary Fils (Phanh) of Brooklyn, Connecticut, Carol Hansen (Ed) of Indianola, Iowa and Douglas Fils (Linda) of Slater, Iowa; her grandchildren, Aaron Hansen (Jenny), Kara Hansen, Matthew Fils, Khek Keomanivong (Thia) and Sam Champalath; and her brother David Lauer (Marj) of Lincoln, Nebraska.. She is also survived by many great-grandchildren.
Memorials in memory of Marilyn may be given to the family for a donation to Friday Friends, an organization enhancing the lives of adults with special needs in the Indianola community.
