He was predeceased by : his parents, Edward Doyne Spurr and Edith Laverne Spurr (Feeback); and his siblings, Floyd Himes, Laverne Himes, Bobbi Spurr, Kenny Spurr, Ruby Spurr Welcher, Doris Spurr Johnston, Noreen Spurr Hoffman, Chuck Spurr and Don Spurr.

He is survived by : his wife Jan Spurr of Creston; his sons, Randy Spurr (Cindy) of Norwalk, Rick Spurr (Kathy) of Atlantic and Jayson Spurr (Shanna) of Norwalk; his grandchildren, Zach Spurr (Hannah) of Norwalk, Nate Spurr (Tessa) of Norwalk, Caleb of Atlantic, Braden Spurr of Atlantic, Dylan Spurr (Peyton Burns) of Norwalk and Haylie Spurr of Norwalk; his great grandchildren, Fletcher and Brylee Spurr; his sisters, Joyce Proctor of Cedar Rapids and Mary Jo Hardman of Silver Lake, KS; and his brothers-in-law, Greg Shawler (Sherry) of Creston and Carl Dowdell of Creston. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are to the First Presbyterian Church and Jayson Spurr Cancer Treatment Efforts.
