He was predeceased by: his parents, Leah Louiza Cowling (Payton) and John Thomas Cowling; his parents-in-law, Ralph and Marie Hudson; his siblings, Rhea Baker, Rose Webb (Otis), Mary Jane Cowling, John (Wanda), Joe (Dixie) and Marion Cowling; his siblings-in-law, Chris Harrison, Danny Hudson, Cecilia Cowling and Donna Hudson; and his siblings' children, Bobby, David, Sally and Linda.
He is survived by: his wife Kitty; his stepchildren, Martha Faye Rhodes (Brian) of Creston, Edman Floyd (Casey Giles) of Creston and Kevin Townsend of St. Louis; his stepgrandchildren, Nevaeh, Mikayla, Serenity, Jayson, Mary and Sky Ann; his siblings, Sue Harrison of Knoxville, Iowa and Bert Cowling of Rockford, Ill.; and his siblings-in-law, Carol Cowling, Mark Hudson, Clark Hudson of Afton, Brian Hudson (Janet) and Rosemarie Harold (Bob) of Dubuque. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
