She was predeceased by: her parents, Cora Mae Burns (Ryan) and Earl Albert Burns; her daughter Tammy Whitney; her former husband Russell Whitney (Jim Hastie); and her siblings, Barb Phipps, Carla Freel, Mary-Ann Villa, Sue Gilliam and Ricky Burns.
She is survived by: her children, Victoria Phipps of Creston, Amy Whitney of Des Moines, Brandie Whitney of Creston and Danny Whitney (Barbie) of Orient; her grandchildren, Jeremiah, Courtney Whitney, Hunter Whitney, Christopher Ott and Jonathan Kohl; her great grandchildren, Jocelynn, Isaiah and Elijah Whitney; and her siblings, Violet Aryes of Des Moines, Joe Hollingsworth (Jan) of Waterloo and Bill Fisher (Dorothy) of Des Moines. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family.
