He is survived by: his children, Kirk Schmaltz (Rhonda) of Ames, Jeff Schmaltz (Suzanne) of San Antonio and Rebecca Archer (Dean) of Ankeny; his grandchildren, Steph Schmaltz, Katie Ifergan (Jonathan), Andrew Archer (Alana), Abby Jones (Jason), Anna Archer, Allie Curran (Samuel), Jeremy Schmaltz and Julia Schmaltz; his great grandchildren, Aniston, Aubree Archer, Nellie Warwick, Nova Jones and Charlie Curran; his brother Gene; and his sisters-in-law, Roseanne Schmaltz and Janet Hampton. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
