He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Hugo and Laverne Bodkin Hoelzen; and his brother Steve Hoelzen. He is survived by: his children, Brian Hoelzen (Marcia) of Bellingham and Michelle Lecuyer (Rob) of Azle, Texas; his grandchildren, Alex Hoelzen (Rachel), Chelsea Vowell and Courtney Franklin (Ethan); his great grandchildren, Lilah Beth, Dawson, Logan, Archer and Brooks; and his brothers, Randy Hoelzen (Donnalee) of West Salem and Dave Hoelzen (Berit) of Burlington.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for Tunnels To Towers Foundation (T2T Veterans Homes).
