He was predeceased by: his parents, Virgil McDoniel and Audie McDoniel (Lewallen); his children, Stacey McDoniel, Sue Hosseinian and Charles McDoniel; and his siblings, J. C., Ralph, Lewis McDoniel, Dorothy James and Martha Brogden.
He is survived by: his wife Mattie "Pat" Baxter; his daughters, Debbie McCollom (Mike) and Sandy Boyd (John); and his daughter-in-law Mary Clarke McDoniel. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
