He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph Hughes and Gertrude Hughes (Green); and his brothers, Ralph (Norma), William (Mary Jane), Robert, Thomas, John "Jack", Dennis (Carol), Paul (Madelyn) and Timothy.
He is survived by: his spouse Lilah Cosner; his daughter Loralie Gomez of Davenport; his former wife Lilah Hughes of Davenport; his sister-in-law Donna Hughes of Davenport; his granddaughters, Jenny Henry (Adam) of Dallas, Megan Gomez of Davenport and Lisa Gomez of Iowa City, Iowa; his great grandchild Cayden Jacobsen; and his friend LaVonne.
