It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Donald H. Rathjen of Davenport, Iowa, who passed away on April 15, 2026, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Donald H. Rathjen to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Rathjen and Wilma Rathjen (Goettsch); his wife Delores Jean Dittman; and his brothers, Delmer, LaVerne, Norman, Lester and Darrell.
He is survived by: his children, Debra Sadd (Frank) of Davenport, Donald Rathjen (Sharon) of Grand Mound, Denise Jackovich (Vincent) of Eldridge and Daniel Rathjen of LaHarpe, Illinois; his granddaughters, Jennifer Howard (Michael), Laura Nagle (Brian), Megan Swanson (Jeremy), Justine Hines (Jon), Katharine Correy (Tye) and Hope Rathjen; his siblings, Charlene Littrel of Washington, Marlene Paulson of Long Grove and Alan Rathjen (Joyce) of Eldridge; and his sister-in-law Carol Rathjen of Princeton. He is also survived by ten great-grandchildren; one step-great-granddaughter.
Memorials may be directed to Holy Family Catholic Church to benefit the Blessing Box food pantry outreach program or to Faith Lutheran Church of Eldridge.
